In which two of my friends go on a speed dating episode of a public access TV show, get paired up, and admit to the studio audience and viewers that they have unresolved sexual tension.

You know when you’re just trying to live your life and then a parade goes down your street?
I've been doing night shoots all week
so I’m on a night schedule, and even though I got back to the city at 2:15AM, I am hanging out and can’t sleep.
I found the director’s sister’s flip video camera in the couch and Adrian and I watched the videos on it: all drunken, cinco de mayo, teenage debauchery. I’m tempted to save one to my computer. The videos are sadly stereotypical, but hilarious.
I picked up my rig today
and it’s sick. Sound Devices 788t SSD and the CL-8 control surface, Lectrosonics wireless transmitters and receivers, battery system, etc. Excited to start using it on Monday.

Was watching Alien with Zach today. During the scene where everyone is holding the guy down who is writhing because the alien is about to explode out of him, Zach says, “that was you at Kabin.”

I AM MAKING THIS DRINK.
I jumped in Lake Michigan in my underwear today
It was cold.
The steadicam shot that took 8 hours. As the steadicam op moves forward, people have to duck and pull their chairs out of the way so he can get by. Also, the table at the end had to be pulled out of the way and an apple box placed down so the op could step on it.
This took more than 3 hours to pull off but it looks cool. Playback is boring. I have done very little actual mixing.
Studying for the GRE
while I have downtime on set. Which is most of the time. Filmmaking involves a lot of doing nothing, especially when you are the sound department.
Sometimes I sit by the monitor. (Wrapped on Day 7. 4 more days to go.)
Day 3 of Basis of Decision. 8 days to go.

I do freelance production sound

David Lynch continues to do things that I love →
David Lynch has relaunched davidlynch.com into some sort of music streaming site. His experimental music is great to listen to. His manipulation of sound always serves as a source of inspiration.
I don't ever want to live in L.A.
Mike Kelley: There's also this idea that Los Angeles is all sun and fun. But in many ways L.A. is a giant slum that goes on forever and ever.
...
PAPER MAG: It's insane how much a city of L.A.'s size has to rely on cars.
MK: That's the saddest thing about this city. There are a lot of sad things about it, but that's the saddest.
